I'm really at risk of losing one of my closest friends and I could do with some help and advice.?

Hmmm.....iv been in a very similiar situation. Long distance is rough, especially if you do really love the person. It could be that because you haven't been in a constant, close and intament relationship she is afraid of letting herself go which in turn may mean loosing a very important friend whom she loves. You should be totally honest and upfront about your feelings and concerns. You might not get the answer you want, but at least you will hopfully receive an honest answer. Answering such feelings is very important, so don't worry about it. Acknowleding your feelings is a very good thing D:)
