Question about "beer goggles"?

I often hear people say that they drink and otherpeople get more attractive? I am the only one who thinks this is kinda BS? I mean I dont get drunk and think fat girls are hot. I might get drunk and sleep with some skank, but I still would probably think she at least kinda attractive sober. Does anyone think its kind of a cop out term, so you can just do anyone you want and blame in on the booze?
