Why do apostolic lutherans have so many children?

Every person I know that is an apostolic has about 10-15 brothers and sisters and none of them watch t.v. this is some type of cult but they don't view it that way huh? They also smoke like 5 packs of cigs per day...but then are against alcohol?? Also what's the difference between the old apostolic and the new? Just curious thanks people
