When i use the internet in some sites the pop-ups r being blocked...i have 157 pop-ups...wht shud i do?

Hello ..... i use symmantic antivirus....now when i open some sites like Songs.pk or something ther are hell lot of popups coming.....now my pop up toll has gone up to 157...its said tht having so many popups is not good and the fire wall may collapse...so now wht shud i do to get it to zero...and is ther any harm with these pop-ups...and is ther any chance of my computer getting infected wid virus????
